What Is a Split/Multi-Split Air Conditioner?

A split air conditioner has two major components: an exterior compressor and an indoor air outlet unit. Split air conditioners rely on a set of pipes to connect the outdoor to the indoor air unit, which is why they are referred to as ductless mini-split air conditioner installations. Unlike systems that require a network of ductwork networked throughout the ceiling, split air conditioners rely on a set of pipes to connect the outdoor to the inside air unit. The refrigerant is diffused via the copper pipes that cycle through the system to produce hot or cold air.

In terms of energy efficiency, a split system with the highest ENERGY STAR certification not only helps to keep the environment clean, but it also helps to minimise your monthly power bill by using less energy.
